Resumen

The letter acknowledges the achievements of the Spanish transplant model, a global leader, with historic milestones in 2024, including 6,464 transplants and a record rate of 52.6 donors per million population. It highlights the fundamental pillars of this success: advanced legislation, clinical leadership, and public awareness campaigns. Additionally, technological innovations, such as using ECMO, have significantly increased donations after circulatory death, positioning Spain as a pioneer in advanced transplant techniques. Finally, it underscores Spain's global impact on international cooperation and transplant equity, establishing it as an ethical and sustainable model for the world.
