Reviewer Guidelines & Quality Standards

At BioNatura Journal, we value methodological rigor and reproducibility over subjective novelty. We ask our reviewers to adopt an "Auditor Mindset" to safeguard the scientific integrity of the field.

1. The "Audit" Approach: What to Look For

  • Methodological Soundness: Is the experimental design adequate to answer the research question?
  • Statistical Rigor: Are p-values and confidence intervals reported correctly? Avoid "p-hacking."
  • Reproducibility: Is the methodology detailed enough for replication?
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Bibliometric Reviews
BioNatura Journal does not accept bibliometric reviews (papers that only analyze publication trends without critical narrative analysis). Rejection is recommended for these cases.

2. Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

🔴 STRICT PROHIBITION: DO NOT upload the manuscript, data, or figures into any public AI chatbot. This violates author confidentiality.

🟢 PERMITTED USE: You may use AI to improve the grammar of your own review comments only.

3. Checklist for AI/Machine Learning Papers

  • Data Leakage: Ensure future variables were not used to predict outcomes.
  • Validation Strategy: The model must be evaluated on an independent, real-world test set.

4. Structuring Your Report

  1. Audit Summary: One paragraph stating the validity and main verdict.
  2. Major Flaws: Fatal errors in design, ethics, or statistics.
  3. Minor Points: Suggestions for clarity, references, or formatting.

En BioNatura Journal valoramos el rigor metodológico. Pedimos a nuestros revisores que adopten una "Mentalidad de Auditor" para proteger la integridad científica.

1. El Enfoque de Auditoría

  • Solidez Metodológica: ¿Es el diseño experimental adecuado?
  • Rigor Estadístico: ¿Se reportan correctamente los valores p? Evite el "p-hacking."

BioNatura Journal no acepta revisiones bibliométricas. Si recibe una, se recomienda el rechazo.

🔴 PROHIBICIÓN: NO cargue el manuscrito o datos en ninguna plataforma pública de IA. Viola la confidencialidad.

🟢 USO PERMITIDO: Puede usar IA para refinar la gramática de sus propios comentarios.
