This editorial highlights the importance of scientific research and the application of innovative technologies to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development in this region. The articles presented in this special issue cover various topics, including sustainable production alternatives, agricultural production improvements, and innovative technologies to improve people's health. The II International Congress on Innovation, Science and Technology "Amazonia Viva" is also highlighted as an essential platform for disseminating and discussing research that contributes to the sustainable development of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
