Editorial Policies
Our commitment to quality, transparency, and ethical rigor.
BioNatura Journal operates under the BioNatura Institutional Publishing Consortium (BIPC), a collaborative framework designed to ensure editorial excellence and geographic diversity.
Aims and Scope
BioNatura Journal is a multidisciplinary, open-access journal that aims to disseminate high-quality scientific research from a global perspective, with a special emphasis on fostering collaboration between Europe, the Americas, and beyond. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and scholarly communications that contribute to the advancement of science.
Our consortium model, involving institutions across Latin America and Spain, ensures a unique editorial vision that values both international excellence and regional relevance.
Editorial Process and Peer Review
Our editorial process is designed to be rigorous, fair, and efficient, leveraging the expertise of our global consortium.
- Submission: Manuscripts are submitted online via our editorial system.
- Initial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial check for scope, quality, and originality.
- Regional Assignment: If the manuscript is deemed suitable, it is assigned to a Regional Editor from one of the BIPC member institutions (e.g., UNAH for Central America, UP for Panama) who has relevant expertise.
- Peer Review: The Regional Editor oversees a double-blind peer-review process, inviting at least two independent experts to evaluate the manuscript. Our consortium structure provides access to a diverse and extensive network of international reviewers.
- Decision: Based on the reviewers' reports, the Regional Editor makes a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief, who makes the final editorial decision (Accept, Minor/Major Revisions, Reject).
- Production: Accepted manuscripts are prepared for publication by the Publisher of Record, Clinical Biotec S.L.
