JOURNAL POLICIES - Bionatura journal

Comprehensive Journal Policies

BioNatura Journal adheres to the highest standards of transparency, scientific rigor, and ethical publishing. Our policies align with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

1. Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

Ethical Oversight

The Editorial Board is responsible for monitoring publishing ethics. We strictly enforce policies against plagiarism, data falsification, image manipulation, and authorship disputes.

Research Involving Humans and Animals

  • Human Subjects: Research must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors must provide a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from all participants and that the study was approved by an appropriate institutional ethics committee.
  • Animal Subjects: Research must adhere to international guidelines (e.g., ARRIVE guidelines) for the care and use of laboratory animals. Ethical approval details must be stated in the manuscript.

Conflict of Interest

All participants in the publication process (authors, peer reviewers, and editors) must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be construed as a conflict of interest. If no conflict exists, this must be explicitly stated.

2. Plagiarism & Scientific Integrity

BioNatura Journal has a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. All manuscripts are screened using professional software (e.g., Grammarly, Copilatio) upon submission.

Consequences:
  • Rejection: Immediate rejection if detected pre-publication.
  • Retraction: If misconduct is proven post-publication, the article will be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines, and a retraction notice will be published.
  • Ban: The authors may be banned from future submissions.

3. Peer Review Policy

We employ a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartiality. Both the reviewer and author identities are concealed.

  • Process: Manuscripts are initially screened by the Editor-in-Chief. Those meeting scope and quality standards are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers.
  • Timeline: We aim for a first decision within 4-6 weeks and a final decision within 90 days.
  • Final Decision: The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority on acceptance or rejection based on reviewer recommendations.

4. Copyright, Licensing & Open Access

BioNatura Journal is a fully Open Access journal. All content is freely available immediately upon publication.

  • License: Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
  • Copyright Retention: Authors retain the full copyright of their work and grant the journal a license to publish. Authors do not transfer copyright to the publisher.

5. Data Sharing & Reproducibility

BioNatura Journal encourages the principles of Open Science. Authors are strongly encouraged to make the data, code, and materials underlying their findings available in public repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare, GenBank).

Data Availability Statement: All manuscripts must include a statement describing how the research data can be accessed or providing a valid reason why it cannot be shared.

6. Privacy Policy (GDPR Compliance)

BioNatura Journal is committed to protecting your personal data.

  • Data Collection: We collect only necessary information (names, emails, affiliations) for the processing and publication of manuscripts.
  • Usage: Data is used strictly for editorial purposes and communication regarding your submission. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
  • Security: We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data against unauthorized access.
  • Rights: You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data from our records, except where retention is required for the integrity of the scientific record.

7. Advertising & Direct Marketing

BioNatura Journal does not accept paid advertising on its website to ensure complete editorial independence. Any direct marketing activities (e.g., calls for papers) are targeted, relevant, and unobtrusive.
